Fire of Dawn

Angel hair burns sweet in the midnight flames
The soldiers die and their last breath blames
My guilt to bear up around me like a cloak
As the sun rises to show midnight smoke

She is like the flitting of the last shadows
To rise and move forward like tomorrows
Dancing to neverending songs of broken bone
Breathing morning air so high up and alone

I'm about to fall down from glory and boil
Feeling the pains of my sowing and toil
I reap the punishment of my defiance
With a stone in my throats cadence

You save me even though I've hurt you
Nothing to gain in everything you do
Love for me more than fear of death
Angel hair burns sour in fiery breath

I seek to save you but my hatred burns
Extinguish my flame and am left in ruins
My fire reignited burning out the cancer
Along dragon scales becoming a dancer

My fire now is warmth for healing
A peaceful flicker with feeling
The sun raising up the tired
Bring me to heights that you inspired
