Earthbound Angel

Binding points of light absent
Where I go or where I went
Watch your step with held breath
Heart stops and ponders death

How can an angel be bound to earth?
I see your wings and see your worth
I often expect you to rise skywards
Each string that draws you downwards

Every line of your body is unreal
Unearthly curves to hold and feel
Unto a precious gem without a flaw
Like something an artist would draw

Lithe symphony burning in my chest
The strands pull you to arrest
Terrible spinners wrapping around
A cascade of twine find you bound

After I see your pain I draw mine
Hurt, a sick black thing to dine
Heaven calls and you don't listen
Skin drawn tight begins to glisten

So I make my hurt a blade for you
Narrowing it to cut a drop of dew
Never a cord shall bind an angel
Deadly swipe of pain, a sickle

Devilish twine whistles past
My blade cuts from first to last
Marvelous wings burst from back
As the cording finally goes slack

A beautiful angel take to the sky
But as you dissapear I say goodbye
Believing you will return to dirt
Everything I have is the hurt

Ever I wish to fly where your went
Binding points of light absent
